Ms. Clara Senolia Poteat lovingly called "Moot" transitioned on March 5, 2024 at Cone Health ARMC. "Moot" was born in Caswell County, NC on July 22, 1931 to Mr. John Poteat and Mrs. Luellen Evans Poteat.
"Moot" attended Caswell County Training School, where she graduated. She was employed with Anne Dean Hosiery for many years. "Moot" then continued her career at Rainbow Daycare Center as a cook, and was devoted to her job. "Moot" was a devoted church member of Burton's Chapel Baptist Church, she enjoyed gardening and loved to drive. "Moot" created uber before Uber was founded. She drove a host of her nieces and nephews around.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Luellen Poteat, her siblings, Philmore, Curtis, Nello, Roy, Garland, Earnest, Odessa Rogers and Nellie Tyler and a very special niece, Dawn Harris.
The life and legacy of Clara Senolia Poteat "Moot" will be forever cherished by her brother, Clarence Poteat, "her five children" as she called them, Jealyn McCandies, Cameron Poteat, Brandi Poteat, Zaria Poteat and Takeara McCandies, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Per the request of Ms. Clara Senolia "Moot" Poteat there will be a graveside service at Burton Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery at 12:00 Noon.
