“Be sure to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior so that when your name is called to leave this earthly world, you will be able to answer with confidence, PRESENT” ……Vanessa Jeanette Foster of Burlington, NC replied PRESENT in the early morning hours on Monday, April 15, 2024. She was born on March 22, 1960, in Alamance County, NC to the late Robert Foster and Josephine Fuller Foster. Vanessa was a graduate of the Graham High School Class of 1978 where she excelled as a forward in Women’s Basketball, earning All-Conference in 1977. She attended True Worship Christian Church where she served on the kitchen committee until her health declined. Vanessa worked for Walmart over 22 years where she never met a stranger and never missed a bargain.
Vanessa had a love for browsing through thrift stores, cooking delicious dishes, and helping her sisters host family events which always led to a great laughable discussion of who is the boss. She represented the term “My Black Is Beautiful” with her fashion sense wearing the trendiest clothing, accessories, and shoes. Her presence within the family will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband the late Bailey “Big B” Felton and her father Robert Foster
Leaving to cherish her life and memories are her mother: Josephine Fuller Foster of Burlington, NC siblings: Chris Foster (Brenda) of Burlington, NC; Joann Foster of Burlington, NC; Betty Foster of Burlington, NC; Gloria Warren (Ronnie) of Cedar Grove, NC; Robert Foster (Audrey) of Raleigh, NC; Gary Foster of Burlington, NC.
