Wilphria Jean Poteat Holt was born September 13, 1951 in Durham County, North Carolina to Robert "Mutt" Poteat and Claudia Lee Moore Poteat. Following a period of declining health on April 3, 2024. she passed away into eternal life while at her home. Jean as she was more commonly known, was a home healthcare provider for several years.
She joined Allen‘s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in her youth and was a member of the gospel choir doing her membership. Later in life, she joined Maple Grove Baptist Church and attended regularly as long as her health permitted. In her spare time she loved flowers, canning, preserving foods, also serving foods, music, classic cars and motorcycles, in which she would ride every chance she got. She was dearly loved, and will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She leaves loving memories and cherished thoughts to her husband, Lewis Worth Holt; her son, Nathan Chambers; one granddaughter, Chai Chambers; one great grandson, Jamil, Baldwin; stepson, Fabian, Thompson; three siblings; Gladys Gentry, Willie Poteat and Katie Harshaw as well as several nieces nephews other relatives and their friends.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by five siblings, Eugene Moore, Lindsay Poteat, Robert Poteat, Kathy "Cabbage" Suggs and Gracie Winstead.
